Scrap Africa Mood Board Challenge no.73

I really loved the colors on the mood board over at Scrap Africa....I tried to incorporate as many as I could into my background but I also like the first image on the mood board...it reminded me of stacking so I tried to get that same feel with my stencil...I used basic water colors for multiple layers then I used distress ink with the stencil....I couldn't help but splash some plain water at the end...I love the splotches it leaves!

Words and Paintery April

When I first looked at the new challenge over at Words and Paintery I read the words and thought of all the new spring flowers that are just starting to bloom out in front of my house...then I looked at the colors and thought of the beautiful Sunflowers my neighbor has every year.... so that's what I based my project on...

I didn't realize when my daughter moved she happened to snag some of my paints took them with her :( she took all my yellows! but I was lucky I still has some distress in and water colors!I used coffee filters to create my flower and some glass beads as the center...I used a bronze embossing powder on the drywall tape it turned out way better than I thought it would!

Muse Challenge #161

I love the look of the inlaid die technique that Anita used for this weeks Muse Challenge. I don't own many dies but I thought this leafy one would look good.

CCCB Week 306

I was super excited to see the new challenge over at City Crafters Challenge Blog....its all about Super heroes! they want to see  one or more of the following on your project.
(1) Super Hero
(2) Comic Strips
(3) the word SUPER
I went with the Superhero because of my daughters influence LOL She loves Iron Man So when I found a free goodie bag printable awhile back I ended up saving it knowing I would use it eventually....I used my Silhouette portrait to turn it into a Print and cut file...I think all in all it came out cute!

LESSology Challenge #57

I was really intrigued by the new challenge over at LESSology they are calling it Snail Mail Revolution...I have been limiting my crafting to only things I know I will use or giveaway (yeah we know that won't last long) I do make a whole lot of cards but they are easy to store and I tend to send so many out each month that there aren't really that many to store! So anyway I wanted to make something I could actually send and or use on another project....but as always I got carried away just a lil bit...

I had a hard time coming up with an upcycled item besides a used envelope...so I went in a different direction...I decided to create my own envelopes out of used paper bags (my upcycled item) I figured they would be sturdy enough for gesso, paints and inks...
here is the first one I made....I got the measurements a little off but it still hold a standard card...woohoo

this is the second one (it came out perfect!)...I loved the color and the texture that was already on it so I decided to just decorate it to be used on a project....
and the last one I made just note size to used on a card or a layout....its not decorated as the rest....I just used washi tape on it....

like I said I got a bit carried away LOL but at least now I know I can make an envelope that I use if need be!

OLS26: As You Wish April

The new challenge over at one layer simplicity is "As you wish." from the movie The Princess Bride.... I have to say I have never seen this movie...I've heard about it and even seen it mentioned in other movies LOL
anyway here is my card for the challenge....I used a couple different stamps...Collage Butterfly is from Kaisercraft....I really wanted to use that bottom butterfly on that stamp for the right hand corner,I tried to do a mirror image but it just kept getting smudged so I pulled out my stampin up butterfly. then there is the sentiment from Bo Bunny. I used my distress markers to color the bottom two and then scribbled on my stamping block, added a spritz of water and added it to the top left....

ARTastic TYPOGRAPHY

Here is the card I made for the new ARTastic TYPOGRAPHY challenge..... I was inspired by the fading letter in the background of the inspiration art. I used my silhouette portrait to create a stencil that is now my background and sentiment for my card...my ideas always seem way better in my head, I have a really hard time getting them onto the paper LOL but all in all it turned out pretty well considering I did three different stencils with three different fonts...I liked this one the best!

CRITERIA is to use TYPOGRAPHY on your work
