It's New Years Eve...

Time to reflect.....another year has come and gone...way to fast in my opinion....It has been a worth while journey! Disclaimer this is a long post and a bit emotional you don't have to read my ramblings but I hope you'll look at my projects from 2013

So I went month by month and picked out my favorites from the last 12 months...

June 2013

Its been a rough year, with the loss of my youngest daughter Stephanie..I never knew what true pain or heartache was...I would never wish anyone to experience what we have been through this year...they say there are five stages of grief, 1.Denial and Isolation- its true,I cut myself off from just about everyone except those that live in the house. 2. Anger- this kind of blends into the first stage and I hate to tell you but it never really goes away,I was kind of lucky I didn't aim it at my family or friends how could I ...I didn't talk to any of them...3. Bargaining- you end up rethinking everything you ever did..the what ifs..how you could change it  4. Depression- this is a really long stage and there are so many levels....5. Acceptance- I can accept what happened but that doesn't mean its okay...
Anyway you tend to repeat these stages many times, I learned a lot of things this year...like how scrapbooking about Stephine helped me and my oldest daughter Sam deal with the loss...we can now it and talk about all the memories without the pain...we smile when she say her name...I can look at her pictures and not cry...it still hurts but I remember all the happy memories and what she meant to us..
I learned that I needed an outlet for the anger...that's where the mixed media came in..it was awesome for all those mood swings...I learned to be social again online and in person, even joined in a couple swaps..I get together with a good friend and we scrap together once in awhile....Lets just say I learned a whole lot more then crafty things but it was the crafty things, family,My bestest friend Ginny and the new friends  that have helped a whole lot! this new year will be about healing and learning to except things that I just can not change!

Another holiday page

Good morning Scrappers...I have another holiday page I'd like to share..like I said in my previous post I hand some time on my hands and decided to play with S.W.A.T-scrap warriors advanced training
this time I did drill #22 Santa Sketch- for this  drill they  wanted to see Santa some where in the sketch. He can be in your picture or on your paper... anything really as long as its Santa.... I used the sketch and for the picture I decided on using the Christmas card my best friend sent me of her rescued pugs (aren't they cute)...I had these really cute vintage style card in my stash that I used..love the Santa!

I decided against adding a title and just used the one that was already on the card...it just seemed to fit..

thanks for coming to take a peek!

Happy Holiday

So i had a bit of time on my hands and decided to play along with S.W.A.T-scrap warriors advanced training drill #21 Caroling we will go, I had to create a project with a Christmas Carol for the title. Any song new or old, fast or slow, any song that makes your heart fill with Christmas cheer! so I decided to make a Christmas card with Happy Holiday since that is one of my all time favorite songs by Bing Crosby...

I have to work on my bow making but other then that I think its kind of cute!

thanks for taking a peek..I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Cool Christmas

First let me wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Now on with the post! LOL

So a month or so ago I was the lucky winner over at Blue Fern Studio's and I received some really beautiful chipboard pieces and couldn't wait to use them.. the prize pack happen to have these really cute holiday pieces and that's what I used for my layout ...I also used the sketch for this month at Blue Fern Studio's for Decembers challenge...
I kind of mixed and matched papers for this since I don't really have any other holiday paper I want to say one is Bo Bunny and the other Pion designs... I used three chipboard pieces the reindeer and the tile are  from Hipster Christmas and the third is from Nifty tags and trinkets ( I was so excited that my Christmas stamp fit right on the tag)

Thanks for coming to take a peek....I hope you all truly have a wonderful Holiday!

Altered Cd Case

Good morning my scrappy friends....I just wanted to share a quick project with all of you.

As I've said in earlier posts I belong to a couple FB groups and we do swaps, I missed out on the altered ornaments so when they posted the altered CD case I jumped at the chance to try it...now that I had signed up for the swap I had no clue what to do LOL I had my choice of cd cases since my husband is such a music/computer geek we have them all over the place...I figured he wouldn't miss one.. I hit the jack pot when I found an empty double case ( holds two cds) then I went online to get some ideas...

Here is what I came up with...I turned a cd case into a mini album..

the front is covered with a heavy piece of chipboard and painted white then I stamped around the edges with part of a G45 stamp, then covered in pretty pattern paper that matches the back .... the butterflies are Prima, the family chipboard is A2Z Scraplets I want to say the left corner piece of chipboard is from A2Z Scraplets too but I couldn't find the packaging so I'm not sure lol
here is what the inside looks like....
there are a total of 8 useable pages to add pictures or just journaling
I made and decorated this little album with my swap partner in mind, I also sent along some decorative die cuts and sayings for her to embellish the pages..
She received this in the mail yesterday and LOVES it....I am so happy she did!

thanks for coming to take a peek...have an awesome Friday!

Peace and Happiness

My daughter asked me to make a card for one of her good friend ...she said she wanted it to be special....what better way to make it special then with snowflakes and lots of glitter..LOL

I used the criteria from Scrap Africa-Glitter, Snowflakes and Masking and made this pretty Christmas card!

there is plenty of glitter...I added a but to the muff and border and sleeve of her coat...the snowflakes are also covered in glitter...you really can't see the masking but its there on the note card under the fussy cut girl...I did a masking of snowflakes..
thanks for coming to take a peek.....

Gift Box

Just one more project for the day....I think...maybe...
This one I made for the 13arts challenge -Gift challenge:
1. Please create a project inspired by the word GIFT.
2. Incorporate a piece of wrapping paper in your project.
3. Please use in your project at least one medium (like gesso, paint, ink, gel medium, mist etc.).
so....we tend to recycle so I have lots of cereal box's laying around I decided to make my own gift box's this year....I cut out and made a 3.5 inch circle gift box...then used gesso, wrapped the entire thing with gift wrap (not Christmas gift wrap but anniversary/wedding gift wrap) I didn't have any Christmas wrap left...need to but some more lol I wrapped a scrap piece of scrapping paper around the middle

I did paint the side when I was finished...

I used the edge of a Graphic 45 stamp and went around to give a funky pattern
then make a pretty satin bow....ta da pretty present

thanks for coming to take a peek!
